Go beyond presets.
Build your own sound from the inside out.
Do you find yourself losing attention with simply scrolling from a dropdown list of genre-specific sounds? YOU WERE NOT MEANT TO CREATE THAT WAY…….
While it is amazing to have so many sound tools, loops, and libraries available to us, it can be difficult and overwhelming to find your own voice in a sea of curated, cookie-cutter sounds.
Inner Synthesis is an immersive exploration of how electronic sound is built, shaped, and animated. Through a blend of technical instruction, ear training, and creative experimentation, you'll learn to design expressive instruments, sculpt evolving timbres, and integrate synthesis fluidly into your compositional process.
It's both technical and philosophical—an inside-out approach to synthesis.
During this course you will learn:
How to identify and create simple and complex waveforms
How to build generative sound systems
Signal flow and creative patching techniques
How to implement creative synthesis into your workflow
The philosophies of sound from electronic music pioneers
Thought experiments to inspire new ideas in sound
Cohort begins Wednesday, December 3, 2025 • Limited seats
This Course is designed for:
Sound designers who want to expand their toolkit
Experimental and ambient artists
Film, game, and installation composers
Musicians who want to learn to think differently about sound
Producers who are tired of scrolling presets and want to establish their unique voice
Founders cohort bonus
Full access to the video instruction series available January 2026.

Meet Your Instructor:
Eric Hoegemeyer is an award-winning composer, sound designer, and educator whose work bridges analog warmth and cinematic experimentation with cutting-edge digital synthesis. His compositions and installations have been featured at venues such as Carnegie Hall, MOMA PS1, The Detroit Science Center and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. As the creator of Inner Synthesis, Eric brings his experience across film music, techno, ambient and experimental music into a hands-on exploration of sound as both art and architecture.
Testimonials:
“Eric Hoegemeyer began working at Rustbelt Studios 25 years ago. From that very first session, it was clear that he was genius at programming the [Akai] MPC, and his ability to command midi was unparalleled. There has never been a keyboard that he couldn’t master and his innate skill for how to create parts and sounds that compliment and enhance the work of his collaborators continues to blow me away. The sounds he creates feel other-worldly and sometimes push the boundaries, but his keen sense will lead him to simplicity when the artist or the session calls for it. Eric is a brilliant programmer who understands music and the people who create it.”
-Al Sutton, Producer
“Working with Eric has been a profound experience. As someone whose own journey has been guided by training with elite sound engineers—Latin Grammy winners and soldiers of the Army School of Music - I arrived with high expectations. Eric not only met them, he exceeded them. His deep listening, his sensitivity to the subtleties of vibration, and his mastery of sonic architecture brought my music into a new realm.
From the first moment, I sensed his ability to hold space - not just technically, but spiritually- while weaving rich layers of sound, tone and silence. His virtuosity is clear: every frequency, every transient, every resonant harmonic is sculpted with intention. Yet he never loses sight of the heart and medicine of the work. He honors the voice, the sacred container, and the ancestral forces, I wish to bring, at play.
In Eric’s hands, the tools of sound become portals. With his creativity and skill, he helped me translate the ancient-future vision of MaYita Music into form. Working with him feels like alchemy: he blends technical mastery and spiritual service, leaving space for insight, emergence and transformation. I’m deeply grateful for his magic, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to producers and artists committed to creating not just music - but something beyond.”

“My first lesson with Inner Synthesis helped me understand the capability and true potential of synths, but you must understand how they work. Inner Synthesis explained the components of a synth to me in detail and made it easy to understand the basics within the matter of an hour! I am grateful that there is finally a clear path for learning how the synthesizer works, and that is through Inner Synthesis.”
